IceZen Air+ Painless IPL Hair Removal Device

I was honestly skeptical at first, but this laser hair removal device has really impressed us. My husband started using it for his back, and after just three sessions, the difference is clearly noticeable. The hair has become visibly thinner, and there are patches where it has stopped growing altogether.

It does cause some discomfort, especially in the first few uses — but it’s totally manageable and much less painful than in-office treatments. He said it feels like a light snap or heat, but nothing unbearable.

What’s great is that it’s easy to use, effective, and much more convenient than going to a salon. We’re excited to continue and see even better results over time.

It's been 3 weeks and I can definitely see a difference in hair growth. Another thing i noticed were scabs along the black line outlining my tattoo. So watch out for that!

Struggle with PCOS and facial hair was SO real that I finally decided to buy this machine despite how expensive it is. Let me tell you, it is worth every single penny! The results are obvious in my pictures posted. Probably have done about 12 total treatments over the last 4 months. It does come back if you stop using for over a month so have to keep up with the treatments. I use it once a week. Highly recommend anyone struggling with facial hair as I did. It was even embarrassing to go out. My confidence has increased and I am loving the results.

This works well on my leg hair, but I haven’t seen as big of a difference on my arm pits, chin, or bikini line. In my leg photo, you can see the columns up my leg where the skin was treated (4 treatments over four weeks) and columns of hair that I missed. I find it kind of humorous, that I have columns of hair and smooth skin, lol. So when treating your skin, be sure you that you are being careful to do the flashes right next to each other, perhaps even with the tiniest overlap, so that you don’t end up with stripes of hair like me!

Given the cost of the item, I wanted to try it for several weeks before I gave my review. So far, I have used this device on my lower leg, under arm, and face (lip/chin). I am a dark haired female originally from Eastern Europe. I have been shaving my legs and under arms almost daily since 4th grade. My hair is coarse and dark. I was astonished that after only 4-6 weeks my hair is gone or minimal in the areas I have been using it. The pictures were taken 4-5 days after my last shave. My legs show almost no growth. My under arms have minimal. My face is also minimal.

The product is minimally painful (think snapping rubber band) but I use it at its highest setting. The pain decreases as the hair follicles start to die off since the laser isn't hitting much. I just recently started to do my thighs as well. Because of the added area, the unit requires pausing for a few minutes to allow it to cool down. Without my thighs, I could do lower legs, arm pits and face with no breaks.

Previously, I had purchased the Tria which I used on my face. It was much more painful but about as effective. The tria was too painful to use on my legs or under arms even at the lowest setting. The Tria was also almost double the cost.

This can work.

1. Dark hair works best. Grey hair is totally unaffected.
2. Put it on your calendar and follow the schedule to the letter.
3. Work meticulously to not miss spots. This is difficult..

It took about 10 treatments and about 99% of brown chest hair is gone. When you shave you get all hairs. This won't target Grey or white hairs that lack melanin. So keep that in mind. I still have some little ones that regrow but the area around my tattoos (don't so this on tattoo skin you will burn and ruin your tattoo forever) when I compare the area around my tattoo it's a really distinct difference. I'm now targeting my few hairs that are stubbornly regrouping. I've moved on to my back where I require my wife's assistance. It hurts a little when you do this. It hurts more when someone else does it as you are not expecting the flash/trigger pull.

It does take time. My chest and belly takes about 20 minutes. Back is a little longer.

Sorry for the skin closeup but I wanted to show the line of where I do it vs where I don't. You can see the few small hairs and the Grey's where i use it but around the tattoo where I have to be careful not to get the tattoo its distinctly more hair.

Follow up august 15
Started chest in early may...by mid July I had removed all the chest hair it was going to remove. I'm fairly hairy and what remains: Grey hairs, and very fine small brown hairs. No new progress made. Not bad but not the same as shaving....however a lot less work in the long run.

Will follow up in 12 months to see if hair stays gone.

I was worried my skin was too dark for this to be powerful enough as the SensoAdapt stays at minimum 1-2. I increase the strength to the third light ( -/+) button on top. Let me tell you that makes a difference. I feel it and smell the hair being zapped. I treat area a day or two after I shave so I can see the hairs that need to be treated. My arms are tanned right now so I cannot zap them. We all get lighter in winter so I’m going to town in the areas that are too dark right now. I treat my upper lip, chin, neck, under arms and toes. I do see a difference in amount of hair. Hair is getting sparse and coarser hair is not causing me bumps as much in chin area. I have tried laser many times in past, glad this doesn’t hurt as much and I don’t need to apply ice afterwards. Will keep using it weekly as it’s easy to use and fast to treat an area. My husband is fair skinned and I used it on his chest. He said it didn’t hurt, just felt weird. His sensoAdapt was almost at a 10! Pro tip: I use the bigger treatment head. The precision head is very picky and if it’s not flat with your skin it won’t flash and you will have to keep readjusting it to get the white “ready” light. Please read safety precautions before you use this. My skin is sensitive for a day but make sure you wear sunscreen and stay out the sun afterwards. Citicard will let you make monthly payments as this device is not cheap. Also love that cord is long!

I’ve been using this for a month now so I feel like it’s a good time to write a review. I have another IPL but you have to press the trigger in order to get a flash. That’s fine for a smaller area but for large areas like the legs, it’s really cumbersome and annoying. Hence why the Braun is in the picture!

This past month, I did it twice a week for a month and hair growth is now very sporadic. The pictures shows a week without shaving. Most of the hair that’s still close to the skin are ones with dead follicles waiting to get pushed out. The longer visible ones are the ones that hasn’t died yet. As you can see, there aren’t much. So this device definitely works well!

The other areas of my body has similar results. In order to help remove the hair with dead follicles, remember to exfoliate. I do see the hair coming out when I use my loofa because the hair gets caught on the loofa.
